NOTWOOD’s revolutionary system makes NOTWOOD the ultimate DIY solution for Retaining Walls.
This revolutionary system eradicates the tricky need to dig holes for the posts and mix concrete to fill the holes and set the steel posts.
NOTWOOD enables anybody to design and install their own Retaining Wall without the need for expensive contractors and large earthmoving machinery!
Base Plates.
The unique Base Plate system in the NOTWOOD retaining wall system means that there is no requirement to dig holes for the steel posts. Simply level the ground underneath the Base Plate, place the Steel Post on top and you’re halfway there to building your Retaining Wall!
- Galvanised to provide longevity.
- Dimensions: 300 x 150 x 2mm
- There are 3 types of Base Plates designed to suit the Retaining Wall design YOU construct
- Base Plate A
- For use with I Column steel posts.
- Base Plate B
- For use with C Channel and Corner Channel steel posts.
- Used for the end(s) of walls and / or external corners.
- Base Plate C
- For use with Corner Channel steel posts.
- Required when the retaining wall has an internal corner(s).
Component Kits.
The Component Kits in the NOTWOOD retaining wall system have been carefully developed to ensure that building your retaining wall is as simple as possible whilst structurally safe and sound.
There are 3 types of Component Kits that have been exclusively designed for use with the NOTWOOD system.
- Component Kit #1
- Used for Steel Post lengths of 150mm and 300mm.
- Required when the height of the Steel Post is 1 or 2 sleepers high,
- Component Kit #2
- Used for Steel Post lengths of 450mm.
- Required when the height of the Steel Post is 3 sleepers high,
- Component Kit #3
- Used for Steel Post lengths of 600mm and 750mm
- Required when the height of the Steel Post is 4 or 5 sleepers high.
Each Component Kit contains the following:

- 1 x Hex Bolt
- 1 x Turnbuckle
- 1 x Base Plate Pin
- 1 x Eye Nut
- 1 x Tie-Back Rod
Component Kit #3 contains 2 x Tie-Back Rods
Star Droppers.
NOTWOOD’s Star Droppers complete the system and are used to anchor the Tie-Back rods into the ground and secure the steel posts.
